There are those who find it hard to keep themselves from
craving for limelight in whatever environment they may be in. They do
everything possible to somehow catch the attention of people.
Such self-exalters cannot digest if anyone else is seen in
the limelight. They look down on others and try to show that they are much
better. Sadly, many are trapped in this web. They are actually pampering
jealously and it’s as dangerous as playing with a snake.
A sincere believer will be content and satisfied in the Lord
with no need to seek for any kind of attention from anyone.
Mat 23:12 (KJV): “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be
abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
“Some people go to church and shout "amen" louder
than everyone else, thinking it proves how spiritual they are. In reality, it
only proves they have a loud mouth and the disposition of an exhibitionist.
They make themselves the center of attention instead of Jesus.” - John Hagee.
“We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we
won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call
attention to their shining - they just shine. - D.L. Moody.
