It is said that a Covington grocer once met his match.
He purchased a table castor for one dollar. Then he marked
it with a tag inscribed "$14" & gave it to a Methodist minister
whose church his family attended.
The next day the minister brought the castor back to the
grocer & said to him, "I am far too poor to display on my table so
valuable a castor as this & if you have no objection I should like to
return it & take $14 worth of groceries for my family in its stead."
The merchant could do nothing but comply.

“Carnal Christians tend to show off their differences and
superiorities in clothing, speech or deeds. They desire to shock people into
recognition of all their undertakings.” - Watchman Nee.
Rom 8:6-7 (KJV): “For to be carnally minded is death; but to
be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity
against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”
