Adoniram Judson (an American, 1788 – 1850) labored faithfully in Burma for almost 40 years; for 18 years without a furlough & in the first 6 years he could not lead a single soul into salvation. He said that he never saw a ship leave Burma without wanting to board it & go home.
When his wife became sick & had to go home for 2 years
without him, he wrote: “If we could find some quiet resting place on earth
where we could spend the rest of our days in peace & perform the ordinary
services of religion.”
But he then wrote: “Life is short. Happiness consists not in
outward circumstances. Millions of Burmese are perishing. I am almost the only
person on earth who has attained their language to communicate salvation.”
God has a specific job for you & you are the only person
who can accomplish it.

1 Pet 3:17 (NIV): “For it is better, if it is God’s will, to
suffer for doing good than for doing evil.”
1 Pet 2:21 (ESV): “For to this you have been called, because
Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow
in his steps.”
