OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE

A businessman well known for his ruthlessness once announced to writer Mark Twain:

“Before I die I mean to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. I will climb Mount Sinai and read the Ten Commandments aloud at the top.”

”I have a better idea,” replied Twain. “You could stay in Boston itself and obey them.”

1 Sam 15:22 (CEV): “Tell me,” Samuel said. “Does the Lord really want sacrifices and offerings? No! He doesn’t want your sacrifices. He wants you to obey him.”

“Obedience is the only reality. It is faith visible, faith acting, and faith manifest. It is the test of real discipleship among the Lord's people.” -  J.C. Ryle.
