A young minister was preaching a
sermon on Christ washing the disciples' feet & in the midst of it he said,
"Do you know, friends, we are all fighting for the top in the church, but
there are so few fighting for the towel."
This was a crude way of saying that
there are very few willing to be the last, the lowest & the least in the
body of Christ.

and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's
feet.” (John 13:14 ESV)
